Frequently Asked Questions
Can beginners do Reformer Pilates, or do I need experience?
Reformer Pilates is suitable for all levels. It adapts to accommodate beginners and experienced practitioners alike, ensuring a fulfilling workout experience for everyone.
How is Reformer Pilates different from other Pilates?
Instead of just using the mat and small props, the Reformer machine allows for adjustable resistance levels, which intensifies workouts and facilitates muscle growth more effectively. The Reformer’s carriage and straps help guide your movements, promoting better alignment and posture during exercises. It provides more varied and dynamic exercises, allowing you to perform movements that would be difficult or impossible on a mat.
What should I wear to a Reformer Pilates class?
Wear comfortable, form-fitting clothing that allows for flexibility and movement. Avoid loose clothing that could get caught in the Reformer. Grip socks are required to prevent slipping on the equipment.
How often should I do Reformer Pilates to benefit?
The frequency of Reformer Pilates depends on your fitness goals. Many people find that attending classes two to three times per week yields noticeable results in strength, flexibility, and overall fitness. However, your instructor can provide personalized recommendations based on your goals and schedule.
What to expect at Sculpt Pilates
Sculpt Pilates creates a studio experience that feels welcoming, supportive, and challenging in the right way.
Clients can expect small class sizes, modern equipment, certified instructors, and a community-focused environment. The studio welcomes beginners, but the classes still help clients build strength and feel more connected to their bodies.
For first-time visitors, instructors explain how to use the Reformer and guide each movement. They can also adjust exercises based on comfort level, experience, and fitness goals.
The overall experience is one of the main reasons people choose the studio. Client reviews often mention the friendly atmosphere, helpful instruction, strong classes, and supportive community.

Can I do Reformer Pilates if I'm pregnant?
Always consult with your healthcare provider before beginning any new exercise program during pregnancy. Reformer Pilates can be safe and beneficial for pregnant women, as it helps strengthen core muscles, improve flexibility, and maintain overall fitness. However, it’s crucial to inform your instructor that you’re pregnant before starting a class. They can modify exercises to suit your stage of pregnancy and ensure a safe and effective workout.
Is Reformer Pilates suitable for injury rehabilitation?
Yes, Reformer Pilates is often used in injury rehabilitation because it offers low-impact resistance training that can be customized to suit individual needs. However, it’s important to consult with your healthcare provider and inform your instructor about any injuries or conditions.
